Fencing in Christchurch
Timber post and horizontal-slat boundary fences — set straight, spaced even, finished clean. The style in our photos is the style we build.
Boundary fencing is the work our name leads with, and most of our jobs are the pale horizontal-slat fences you see across this site: fresh pine boards run sideways between solid posts, finishing new builds and townhouse rows with one long clean line.
What we build
- Horizontal-slat fences — even shadow gaps, boards cut to fit off the mitre saw, runs sighted down their full length.
- Post lines and rebuilds — fresh pine posts set along footpaths and driveways, replacing tired or leaning boundaries.
- Gates to match — pedestrian and driveway gates built in the same slat style as the fence run.
- Boundary work between units — fence lines between townhouses and along shared drives, coordinated with the concrete and lawn stages.
How a fence job runs
It starts with a string line and levels, because a fence is only as straight as its posts. Posts go in along the boundary — our photos show the fresh pine row going up beside a new footpath — then rails and slats follow, each board checked against the line. The DeWalt saw, trailer and offcut blocks in our build photos are the honest middle of the job; the glowing finished corner at sunset is the end of it.
Built for Canterbury conditions
Slatted construction lets the nor'wester pass through instead of loading the fence like a sail, which matters on exposed new subdivisions. Posts are set to stay plumb, boards are fixed so gaps stay even as the pine seasons, and lawns and paths are finished around the footings so the whole boundary reads as one job.
Fences as part of a finished section
Most of our fences go up alongside our other work — a patio pour, a new lawn, a scraped and levelled yard. One crew carrying the job from earthworks to the last slat means levels agree, nothing gets dug up twice, and the section is genuinely done and dusted.
